Destination Cellars is excited to announce that we will be cracking a selection of the Buffalo Trace Antique Collection on Friday April 30th at 7pm in the elegant surrounds of the RACV Hobart Hotel. There is over $4000 worth of some of the best Bourbon whiskey on the planet on offer. A night of sublime whiskey not to be missed.

This whiskey is released in very limited quantities each year and will only ever be tasted by a lucky few. Southtrade International's Gee David will take us through a selection of Buffalo Trace's Antique Collection that have helped Buffalo Trace become the most awarded distillery in the world.

Buffalo Trace has been dedicated to crafting traditionally aged whiskies for well over 200 years. It was crowned as ‘Distiller of the Year’ at the 2018 Icons of Whisky America awards, and is proudly the world’s most awarded distillery,

The Antique Collection was introduced more than a decade ago and has become a cult favorite among whiskey connoisseurs. Since 2000 these whiskeys have garnered numerous awards from across the industry.

Every whiskey in the range encapsulates the dedication and innovative methods implemented by each of the previous five iconic master distillers, reflecting their individual styles.

Here is what is on tasting:

Pappy Van Winkle 15 Year Old 53.5% Family Reserve 750ml. The 15-year-old Pappy Van Winkle straight Kentucky bourbon. The Van Winkle bourbon name has become synonymous with excellence and exclusivity. Australian allocations are notoriously small, with only the very fortunate able to obtain one of these exclusive bottles. The 15-year-old Van Winkle Special Reserve straight Kentucky bourbon - a supremely sophisticated whiskey.

Sazerac Rye 18 Year Old Whiskey 45% 750ml. The history of Sazerac rye dates back to the 1800s, when the Sazerac Coffee House on Royal street would serve up rye whisky based mixers, one of which would become the Sazerac cocktail. This 18-year-old is the premium version of the classic expression.

Eagle Rare 17 Year Old 50.5% Bourbon Whiskey 750ml. Eagle Rare 17 is one of the more refined releases of the Buffalo Trace Antique collection, exquisite sophistication. matured for 17 years and three months, this whiskey is bottled at 50.5% ABV and is the big hitter of the Eagle Rare stable.

George T. Stagg Bourbon Whiskey 65.2% 750ml. The 2020 release of George T. Stagg is a 15 years and 4 months old bourbon bottled straight out of the barrel without the addition of water and without filtering. The expression is named in honour of one of bourbon's most important pioneers.

William Larue Weller Bourbon 67.3% 750ml.  Uncut and unfiltered, this hand-bottled bourbon is barrel proof. Weller substitutes wheat for the traditional rye grain, a production method pioneered by W.L. Weller.
And to get your taste buds going:

Buffalo Trace Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey 700ml. This multi award winner is the flagship bourbon for the eponymous distillery made from corn, rye and malted barley. It’s aged in new oak barrels in historic old warehouses and is batched from no more than 40 barrels at a time.

Tickets are $150 per person and must be booked in advance as seats are limited.

Unfortunately we don't have any more BTAC available to sell, but great stories, finger food and good times will be provided.
