Destination Cellars invites you to a special whisky event with multi award winning Mackey triple distilled Tasmanian single malt whisky.
Join Shene Estate Head Distiller David Kernke and local whisky legend Mark Nicholson for a night of stories and great drams on Friday evening November 8th at 7pm in the beautiful surrounds of Hadley’s Orient Hotel.
Shene Estate and Distillery are the proud producers of Mackey Single Malt Whisky distilled onsite in Pontville, Tasmania. Mackey Single Malt Whisky draws on the rich tradition of Irish Whisky made in a Tasmanian style. Made with pure Tasmanian mountain water and 100% premium malted barley from the Tasmanian Midlands, it combines the complex character of Tasmanian whisky with the silkiness that comes from triple distillation.
Learn how our special brewing techniques at Shene Distillery and subsequent wash influences the unjque flavour of Mackey Triple Distilled Single Malt Whisky and the yet to be released Shene Double Distilled Single Malt. Given that in 2018 we were awarded a Gold Medal in the Australian Distilled Spirits award for our double distilled new make spirit, we expect our Shene Double Distilled Single malt Scottish style whisky to be as good as our triple distilled Mackey version.
Learn also about Shene Cooperage and how we source the best barrels world-wide to ensure Shene Distillery only produces the best quality whisky.
Since inception in 2014, Shene Distillery has produced five expressions of Mackey whisky, all of which we will try on the night, including the rare R1 & R2 bottles, as well as a sneak peak of Release 6.
