Lark 'The Wolf' #4 Limited Release Whisky Event
Lark Distillery in conjunction with Destination Cellars invites you to a very special evening of Whisky Wolvery on Friday September 10th at 7pm in the beautiful surrounds of RACV Hobart Hotel.
We are excited to present the fourth instalment of 'The Wolf Release' with a Lark line up to make you salivate! We will not only delve into the recently unleashed Lark The Wolf #4 Limited Release, but have also secured a batch of the Wolf of the Willows Lark Barrel Aged Imperial Johnny Smoked Porter #4 to try alongside each other. We have sourced a bottle of the now extinct superstar Muscat Cask Limited Release as well as the Brokenwood Rare Cask, and to top things off you will be treated to the Sherry aged and Sherry finished 2021 Limited Release.
Joining us from the Wolf Pack to present this year to host will be the venerable pack leaders Craig Johnstone & Will Jenke (Canis lupus larkus) from Lark Distillery for an evening of celebration, as they explain how The Wolf Release came into fruition, and how it represents a unique exchange of ideas, passion and casks.
Lark Distillery whisky casks were carefully selected by the crew at Wolf of the Willows Brewery, then decanted and sent on a journey across the Bass Strait. Filled with the Wolf’s Imperial Johnny Smoked Porter and left to age, they worked their magic before being emptied and returned to Tasmania, to be refilled with Lark single malt whisky. The result is the Wolf Release: a unique single malt whisky that reflects an adventurous and collaborative journey.

Lark Rare Cask Brokenwood Graveyard 51% abv Single Malt Whisky Lark's masterfully crafted single malt whisky from their Coal River Valley Distillery has met its perfect match in two incredible Graveyard Shiraz finishing casks, sourced from the highly acclaimed Brokenwood Wines in the foothills of the Hunter Valley. Brokenwood's 2018 Graveyard Shiraz was awarded Wine of the Year in 2021 with a whopping 99 points, and these casks provided an incredible finishing vessel for the whisky.
Lark Muscat Cask Limited Release 46% abv Single Malt Whisky Lark Muscat Cask Finish 2020 was awarded Gold (96 Points) at the 2020 International Wine & Spirits Competition, their highest achievement at the IWSC to date. In spring of 2019, Lark's head distiller travelled to South Australia and uncovered a treasure trove of fortified wine casks in the Barossa Valley. Amongst the old oak port and sherry casks, he came across a very small parcel of ex-Muscat casks. One cask was hand chosen as the perfect finishing cask for this extraordinary whisky: a syrupy single malt crafted at their Coal Valley Distillery.
Lark Sherry Sherry II 51% abv Single Malt Whisky Lark's second Sherry Aged & Sherry Finished Release is perhaps the world’s first “Triple Sherry Cask” inspired by some of the world’s most famous sherry monsters. This Lark single malt is a marriage of first fill ex-sherry casks from the Cambridge Distillery, finished in a combination of carefully selected Oloroso and PX Sherry Butts from Seppeltsfield in South Australia.

Wolf of the Willows 2021 Lark Barrel Aged 11.8% abv Imperial Johnny Smoked Porter #4 Mark III of the barrel exchange project with Lark Distillery see’s the release of the 2020 version of the Lark Barrel Aged Imperial Johnny Smoked Porter (JSP). This Imperial Smoked Porter was aged in 100L Lark barrels for an average of 9 months and weighs in at a hefty 11.8%. The result is an Imperial Smoked Porter rich with whisky barrel aged flavours of vanilla, oak, peat, dark chocolate, molasses, truffles and espresso.
Tickets are $95 per person and must be booked in advance as seats are limited.
Stock of selected items will be available to purchase at discounted rates to attendees, plus finger food, and good times will be provided in a very Covid safe environment.
