Traigh Bhan, is Ardbeg's first permanent age-stated whisky to be released in nearly 20 years.
The latest release from our Islay favourite, Ardbeg's Traigh Bhan is a 19 year old expression named after the local Traigh Bhan beach on Islay, sometimes known as the Singing Sands. The first core expression from Ardbeg in 20 years to be released with an age statement, this is an impressive dram that captures the character of the coastline brilliantly.
Each batch of Ardbeg Traigh Bhan will feature a unique code on the carton and bottle, which drinkers can enter into the distillery’s website to find out more about the ‘story’ of the whisky.
Dr Bill Lumsden, Ardbeg’s director of distilling, whisky creation and whisky stocks, said: ‘A new, permanent aged Ardbeg is a rare occurrence, and cause for celebration.
‘We hope that, by slightly tweaking the batch recipe year-on-year, Ardbeggians can have some fun exploring the finer details of this ever-changing dram.’
It was drawn from a combination of American oak and Oloroso sherry casks, and has been bottled at 46.2% ABV.
