BenRiach Distillery Event
Destination Cellars in conjunction with the new local bar 'Dirty Pennies' invite you to a special whisky event on Wednesday evening March 20th at 7.15pm as we jump into the whisky wonderfulness of the iconic BenRiach Speyside Distillery.
Join brand ambassador Seamus Carroll as he guides us through some big age statements and some new releases that you will be some of the first in Australia to try, including the newly released 30 Year Old Authenticus, and as a special treat we will be showing you the latest release of the legendary GlenDronach 15 Year Old Revival!
The BenRiach distillery are known as progressive Speyside whisky distillers, BenRiach boldly approaches the art of distillation and cask maturation. They call it BenRiach Maltology, and have previously been awarded Best Distillery in the World.
We will be opening up the following amazing BenRiach single malt whiskies:
12 Year Old Sherry Wood - a return of the sherried legend after a couple of year absence
21 Year Old 'Temporis' - a 21 year old peated single malt which has been matured in a quartet of cask types - bourbon barrels, virgin oak casks, Oloroso casks and Pedro Ximénez casks.
22 Year old Dark Rum Wood Finish - initially matured in the traditional style in American bourbon barrels before it was finished in dark rum barrels, sourced from Jamaica.
22 Year Old 'Dunder' - the BenRiach Dunder is distilled from peated malted barley. The whisky is matured in American oak casks and then finished in dark rum barrels.
30 Year Old 'Authenticus' - a rare opportunity to experience a peated Speyside single malt dating back to the 1980s. Crafted from densely peated malted barley.
15 Year Old GlenDronach 'Revival' - a new recipe thanks to master blender Rachel Barrie, combining both oloroso and PX casks into a rich sherry-monster that's packed with spice and fruit.

Wednesday March 20th at 7.15pm at the Dirty Pennies Bar, 30 Murray Street Hobart
Dirty Pennies was conceived by a group of local Tassie guys who wanted somewhere casual to drink really really good booze without blowing the budget or wearing a suit. Breathing new life into the historic Victoria Tavern, Dirty Pennies aims to take a classic bar and flip it on it's head with quirky street art, great drinks, fun people, Jaffles and no pretentiousness. We want to share our journey in alcohol with everyone who visits us by knowing great booze at a reasonable price, and creating a fun, relaxed environment to enjoy it in.
