Bruichladdich Islay Barley 2013 unpeated distillate was produced using barley grown on Islay in 2012 by eight farmers from western and central farms, which was dried, malted and distilled in 2013

For many years now Bruichladdich sought to showcase the phenomenon of “terroir” in single malt whisky – the belief that soil, climate, micro-climate, geographic orientation, natural influences and local weather systems will influence the quality and flavour profile of the spirit, making it a unique expression of ‘place’.

The unpeated spirit was matured in a mix of first-fill American whiskey casks (75%) and French wine casks (25%) for a minimum of eight years.

Tasting notes:

Aromas of apple, pear, melon, and orange mingle with heather, toffee, and vanilla fudge on the nose, complemented by notes of blossom honey, kiwi, coconut, white pepper, milk chocolate and sea salt throughout the palate.

700ml | 50% | Islay, Scotland
