An intriguing single malt from Islay's Caol Ila Distillery, matured in a trio of sherry butts for 7 years - from 2012 to 2020
Following that slumber, Càrn Mòr came along and bottled it all up at 47.5% ABV for the Strictly Limited range. Only 1324 bottles were produced.
Nose: Tarry ropes and slated butter on crumpets, plus marmalade sweetness developing.
Palate: The sherried richness comes into play here, with sultana and malt loaf. Still coastal and smoky.
Finish: Sea salt and black pepper crisps, Dairy Milk chocolate.
