Captain Bligh's 'Pandora' First Release Single Malt Whisky 42% ABV 500ml

From the Fabulous Brooks Boys comes their much anticipated First Release Single Malt Whisky

We are absolutely chuffed to be able to present to you Captain Bligh's first release Tasmanian single malt whisky. The Destination Cellars crew have been following (and tasting!) the progress of this whisky since its distillation several years ago. It's a cracking whisky. Grab a bottle while you can as this whisky was decanted from a 100L cask that produced only 190 bottles.

Named ‘Pandora’, for both the ship tasked with bringing the mutineers of Captain Bligh’s ship The Bounty to justice, and for the woman in Greek mythology who’s known for bringing both chaos and hope into the world.

This whisky was many years in the making, and much has happened in the time since it was laid to rest in its cask. It began maturation in a Captain Bligh’s 'Keelhaul’ strong ale cask, before being transferred to a bourbon cask for a gentler finishing.

The signature of our business is the coupling of Captain Bligh’s beer casks with the whisky we produce to connect both aspects of our Brewstillery together.

It has been a labour of love, but also an enormous undertaking for such a small family business. The wash for this whisky was made by Adam and Steve Brooks, son and father. Every part of the process, once the barley grains arrive, is started and completed by us, by hand, using tried and true methods. We feel the results of our work are well worth the enormous effort, and we hope you agree.
