Destination Cellars Five Year Anniversary ONLINE Whisky Event
You are invited to celebrate Destination Cellars five year anniversary, we are going to celebrate in style alongside the distillers we collaborated with.
This booking is for the Online Whisky Event, where you can enjoy the drams from the comfort of your own home . This online tasting event will go live at 7.30pm Friday September 25th.
Due to Social Distancing we bring Distant Socialising, we will send you out the sample bottles and later send you an invitation to join the Zoom meeting. To participate all you will need is your computer or phone. Or you can enjoy the samples in the solitude and sanctity of your home at any time.
These are the whiskies that we will be ripping into:

- Overeem Port Cask Single Malt Whisky, 700ml, 62,2% ABV
- Lark Port / Muscat Cask Single Malt Whisky, 500ml, 48.0% ABV
- Hobart Whisky Ex-Bourbon & Ex-Oloroso Sherry Cask Single Malt Whisky, 500ml, 61.3% ABV
- Tasmanian Independent Bottlers RD0028 Single Malt Whisky
- Old Kempton Sherry Cask, 500ml 62.5%
- Old Kempton Sherry Cask, 500ml 50.0%
Online Tickets/packs are $75 per person for in-store purchase (or Click & Collect) or add $9.95 for postage (calculated at check out). Your pack consists of six 15ml sample bottles & a tasting mat. Participants in this online event will have access to special pricing on 5th Anniversary stock (subject to availability).
"The reasoning behind the 5th Anniversary Release was to mark a milestone of sorts and to look back over the people and distilleries that I have worked with not only over the last 5 years, but since I moved back to Tasmania and started in the industry about 11 years ago. It is a celebration to share with the wonderful people who work in the industry, also providing the chance to make some exceptionally special products to share with our customers who have supported us along the way.

Sullivans Cove Double Cask Single Malt Whisky, 700ml, 47.6% ABV Is a marriage of 4 casks ranging from 11 to 14 years of age: French Oak, ex-white wine, 225L, French Oak, ex-Tawny, 300L, American oak, ex-Tawny, 300L, American Oak, ex Bourbon, 200L.
"This whisky is a fabulous expression of the character of Sullivans Cove Distillery and maturation styles. It has all the hallmarks- dense fruit and cocoa, rich, biscuity malt, and that creamy texture typical to Sullivans. The union of both French and American oaks gives a robust and balanced oak profile which lends the perfect platform for such a rich spirit to stand on." Heather Tillott
Overeem Port Cask Single Malt Whisky, 700ml, 62,2% ABV. A single cask bottled at natural cask strength, a 6 year old, 100L French Oak ex-Port cask, Heavily Charred, made at Overeem Brightwater Road (the original site).
"After tasting it a number of times (with the Overeem tasting panel, and the DC guys) we picked it as the 'winner', and all agreed it was a great representation of what the Overeem 'house-style' is. For Todd particularly, it brought back memories of the earliest Overeem releases. It's a bold, beautiful Port Cask bottling that was perfect straight from the barrel." Jane Overeem
It's the first Overeem Port Cask Single Malt Whisky to be bottled at Natural Cask Strength 62.2% ABV.
Lark Port / Muscat Cask Single Malt Whisky, 500ml, 48.0% ABV. A gorgeous single malt whisky from Lark. Port cask matured and finished in a Muscat cask.
"Todd came to me earlier this year and pitched the idea of a collaboration. I asked him to give me a half dozen examples of whiskies that set his world on fire. We looked at the flavour profiles and textures, then went about creating a whisky that represents those characteristics. This whisky was created in that light - it has a traditional Lark style with a twist." Chris Thompson
Hobart Whisky Ex-Bourbon & Ex-Oloroso Sherry Cask Single Malt Whisky 500ml, 61.3% ABV This whisky is a marriage of three casks. We started with a single 40L American Oak Ex-Bourbon Cask from Hillrock Distillery. This cask was laid down on the 6th of April 2016 giving it just over 4 years of age. We added to this marriage whisky from a 35L French Oak Oloroso Sherry cask. This cask was laid down on the 18th of August 2017 which gives it about 3 years of maturation. Lastly we added a dash of American Oak Ex-Bourbon matured whisky which had been finished in a 200L American Oak 10 year old Laphroaig Cask.

Tasmanian Independent Bottlers Old Kempton Sherry Cask Single Malt Whisky, 500ml 62.5% & 500ml 50.0% Aged in a 100L 30 Year Old McWilliams Oloroso Sherry cask from spirit made at Redlands Estate (now Old Kempton) distilled on 6/8/'16. A single cask expression from The House of Duckett, that tasted so good at natural cask strength and at 50%abv we decided to release them both!
