Two climates, two casks, two cultures… The result is an amber rum with elegant aromas leading to ripe fruit on the palate
Dos Maderas 5+3 was initially matured in the Caribbean isles of Guyana and Barbados for five years. It was then sent to Jerez de la Frontera where it was transferred to casks that previously held 20 year old 'Dos Cortados' Sherry, where it was finished for an additional three years - giving the rum its famous "5 + 3" moniker.
ELEGANT, FRUITY, VERSATILE
This amber rum has elegant aromas of rich pecan, vanilla and a touch of smoky oak. Ripe fruit follows on the balanced palate, elevated by vibrant tropical spice and layered with a touch of smokiness, hints of sherry, and an intriguing note of tobacco on the finish.
