The 18th Century estate at Plantation Versailles was situated on the West bank of the Demerara River and was famous for its golden rum. Distilled on the Single Wooden Pot Still
Tasting note: Nose represents a somewhat strong bourbon characteristic, some vanilla and oak with a subtle fortified wine note that comes through after having several minutes to breathe. The flavour skips over the tip of the tongue and lands around middle palate with jammy fruit and char. It's elegant and the flavours layer across the palate moving from mid to back. It finishes clean and short but leaves a lingering flavour in the mouth of charred dried apricot and prunes.
