Highwayman Batch #3.0 Fires to Floods
This release sees the unleashing of the first ever peated Highwayman whisky, a long time coming but definitely worth the wait! A marriage of unpeated and peated casks with whiskies that range from 2 years to over 3 1/2 years old. 17 different casks were used to make this masterpiece including PX sherry, Tawny, Red wine and Bourbon casks. It’s bottled at a cask strength of 53.9% with 320 bottles in the batch.
Tasting Notes:
Nose: Raw Brazil nuts, dried mushrooms and truffles, damp Forest floor earthiness, marzipan, Demerara sugar new leather. Old antique furniture & hints of cacao nibs
Palate: Savoury HP sauce, black liquorice and brown sugar syrup, Sweet cigar smoke, wet tobacco and umami savouriness. Black cherry and boysenberry. With a Medium long with balsamic reduction and soft integrated earthy smokey finish.
