A 12 year old Nikka release which was released around 2015.
This whisky was made from the blending of malts from the two distilleries of Yoichi and Miyagikyo. This whisky was created to honour Matasaka Taketsuru, the founder of Nikka and the father of Japanese whisky. This 12 years old expresses all the creativity and complexity that Nikka whiskies exhibit and that Taketsuru pioneered.
They have utilised the different natural environments at the distillery with use of steam heat distillation. The resulting malt is distinguished by a harmony of the aroma of aged casks with sweet hints of vanilla and gentle peat. An elegantly soft taste, deepened by a tangy, sweet fruitiness.
Please Note: This bottle is from a private collection and has some minor scuffing/folds/handling marks on the box. The actual product not pictured.
