Named after the ancient ferry port and fishing harbour situated on the East coast of Islay. Port Askaig is an award winning dram from the folks who brought us the mighty fine "Elements of Islay" independent bottlings.
The Spring 2020 Edition was drawn from a combination of 2006 and 2007 vintage hogsheads, bottled in Spring 2020. A total of 18 bourbon hogsheads were combined to create this expression, so there's a lovely balance of sweetness among the classic Islay smoke.
Nose: Peat smoke shrouds a sea breeze, with a burst of lemon sherbet.
Palate: Lemon pie and white nectarine lead into beach bonfire and vanilla fudge.
Finish: Flamed citrus peels and barbecue spices, with freshly cut grass lingering.
