Spring Bay Distillery Whisky Event
Destination Cellars will be opening up some exciting new and rare release whiskies from Spring Bay Distillery alongside their wonderful creators on Friday evening April 23rd at 7pm in the beautiful surrounds of Hadley's Hotel.
Destination Cellars warmly invites you to a very special 'Meet the Maker' whisky event with our great friends at Spring Bay Distillery. Established in 2015, Spring Bay Distillery on Tasmania's pristine east coast is the realisation of a dream for owners Cam and Suzy Brett. Having shared a love of whisky for over 20 years, building a distillery was a natural culmination of many years of planning and dreaming.
Spring Bay Distillery’s approach to making single malt whisky ensures every part of the process has the highest quality application that can be achieved. The use of premium Tasmanian barley, the quality of the wash, the distilling, the careful selection of casks and importantly using arguably the best water in the world – East Coast Tasmanian rainwater.
A couple of years ago local distilling legend Dean Jackson was added to their roster and the trio have been producing some of the most consistently high quality whiskies in the country.

Rare Release - Wine Series Cabernet Sauvignon 46% American Oak Wine Cask Single Malt Whisky. Flavours of sweet American Oak vanillas, caramels followed by the rich dry tannins of this classic Tasmanian bold red wine cask. A whisky inspired by the legendary Longrow Red from Campbeltown.
Rare Release - Wine Series Pinot Noir 46% Cask French Oak Single Malt Whisky. Classic notes of French Oak, dark chocolate, white pepper spice, sweet cigar box aromas with fruit driven finish from this East Coast Pinot Noir cask.
Rare Release - Wine Series The Rheban Pinot Noir 58% Cask French Oak Single Malt Whisky - one of Dean's favourites; a bigger, richer powerhouse of Pinot cask deliciousness. Little brother of the 46%.
The Rheban Cask Strength Port Cask 58% Matured Single Malt Whisky - the signature Spring Bay whisky, rich, powerful and velvety flavours and aromas. Sweet caramel syrup and plum pudding spices join a clean, bright alcohol explosion which spreads across the palate to settle in and glow with some soft oaky tannins. Finishing with hints of cherry cordial and some nutty undertones that clearly displays the quality of both the spirit and the wood in developing harmony.
Sherry Cask Matured 46% Single Malt Whisky - one their most popular releases, matured in French Oak Sherry casks. Lifted floral notes, caramel and dried fruit sweetness, finishing deliciously long with gentle spice.
A limited amount of these releases will be available to purchase on the night to attendees.
Tickets are $65 each and must be booked in advance as seats are limited. Your ticket includes all whisky samples, finger food and good times.
