New Whiskies from Here & There Event

Here are the great new drams on offer:

Starward Fortis Single Malt Whisky. 'Fortis', coming from the Latin meaning ‘bold’ or ‘brave’, brings the intensity. It’s one of the highest proof bottlings every released from Starward. With the toasty oak and vanilla flavour from American Oak, and the juicy red wine profile from the shiraz and cabernet wine barrels, the boldness of Fortis beckons. Bottled at 50%abv.

7K Sherry Cask Single Malt Whisky - 48.5%abv. This is a brand new release from local lads at 7K Distillery - it is being bottled and labelled in the coming days and will be ready for your appraisal at the event! Tasting notes here please... 

Chief's Son The Tanist Single Malt Whisky. This extraordinarily smooth, sweet, yet rich whisky is forged by a long marriage of spirit in ‘double wood’, essentially using two types of oak barrels to mature the spirit. The early smooth honey, sweet vanilla and citrus character is derived from the harder American oak, whilst the bold rich flavours of stone fruits, dark toffees and old sherry come from the lush French oak casks. The rich, oily malts create a honey-like mouthfeel and a beautifully long finish. Bottled at 43%abv. 

Ardbeg Wee Beastie 5 Year Old Single Malt Whisky. Matured in ex-Bourbon and Oloroso sherry casks. At just five years old, Wee Beastie is a feisty young creature with a formidable taste, and the latest permanent expression to join the Ardbeg family. Bottled at 47.4%abv.

Hobart Whisky - Laphroaig Cask Finished Limited Release Single Malt Whisky. Matured in small ex-bourbon casks for 3.5 years, transferred to a 200L rum cask for 1 year then finished in a 200L Laphroaig cask for only 12 days. Mellow peat, full of malty caramel sweetness, high floral notes, and rum goodness coming through. Lingering Islay peat notes tie it all together and leave it with a long and satisfying finish.  Bottled at 60.6%abv
