Limeburners Tasting at Hadleys Oriental Hotel

Limeburners Tasting at Hadleys Oriental Hotel

An evening with Great Southern Distilling Company

Craig Merson from The Whisky Company out of Melbourne took us through the Limeburners range and shared a his experiences and insights with us in a thoroughly entertaining event. We started the evening with the Tiger Snake sour mash whisky which was really well received. If production can be increased as planned with no loss of quality this could be a hot seller at under $100.

What we found interesting is that Limeburners are trying really hard for consistent quality and taste and avoiding batch releases. Their focus is their American Oak single malt,  which is also gently finished as a sherry oak and port oak releases, without allowing the sherry or port to alter the finish drastically.
The attendees voted at the end of the event and the gold medal for the evening went to the Port cask, Silver to the single barrel (M210) Peated and Bronze to the Multi-award winning Darkest Winter cask strength single barrel (M349)
